7 of Coins

For Seed Seewa’s second fundraiser supporting the Hemkunt Foundation, I printed one of my tarot inspired designs on silk to help fundraise. The organization helps material resources and relief for farmers protesting in India.

My project Elegy was shown at Junior High Los Angeles from October 4-6. It was my first solo show, and benefit show. I partnered with my friend Nadia to sell prints, from which all proceeds went to Yellowhammer Fund. They are a nonprofit that works to create on the ground networks to increase abortion access for people in Alabama. You can look at photos and videos from the show below!

My work “Eden” was featured at the FLORA QTPOC art show at UCSD.

11/30/16: Object/Body/Site in the Digital Age

My final for my digital photography course was featured in a gallery show in the UCSD Kamil Gallery. Titled, Concerning "The Big Toe," the project served as a visual exploration to Georges Bataille's essay, "The Big Toe." You can read the essay here, and read my artist's statement, here.

5/10/17: f 8.0

My final project for my photography class on analog techniques was featured in the Triton Art Gallery show "f 8.0" on themes exploring journeys, body, and form. In this photo essay I created a series which conveyed a journey based upon fictions, but inspired by real places. I drove to certain spots in Los Angeles which were visually striking to me, and based upon the emotional or imaginative reaction I initially had upon being there, I created a scene for a friend who served as a model, by creating different outfits and utilizing props which I had brought along. Throughout the journey, we created several different scenes, but all with recurring objects or items of clothing which served to visually tie the scenes together. My goal for the project was to suggest certain themes for the viewer, but for the viewer to ultimately be provoked to imagine a narrative of their own.
